Why provide mediation training to your staff?

The law has changed. The new Employment Law 2008 and ACAS guidelines require employers to replace their statutory grievance procedures with mediation.

Mediation skills are effective to manage conflict in the workplace and improve productivity at every level. Displaying these skills will maintain low levels of conflict in the workforce and will defuse potentially damaging interpersonal tensions.

Mediationwise can deliver focussed, high quality training to your staff to enable them to become compliant with the new legislation.

With the new legislation in place, HR managers will have to be trained in mediation skills to manage the early stages of conflict in the workforce. Where a grievance is raised formally, it may help to display impartiality by appointing an external, independent mediator (see workplace mediation services).
